92-year-old Greer man becomes U.S. citizen after decades

Jamya Reed , wyff4.com –  GREER, S.C. — An Upstate man is now legally an American, after more than 20 years of working to attain citizenship.

Feliciano Torres officially became a U.S. citizen on Wednesday at 92 years old.

He retired as a pastor from Peru, where he started many churches.

His family says he used to travel to the Andes mountains to share the gospel.

Torres came to the U.S. in 2001 and has deep gratitude to immigration officials for their help through the naturalization process.

He said he’s currently working and in good health.

Next month, Torres will celebrate his 93rd birthday.
