Buying a playstation 3
It's now a year ago that Sony launched Playstation 3 in some parts of the world, since then the price has fallen drastic, and gameselection is starting to grow. This means that the console is becomming more and more interesting to others then the fans of playstation. The lower price and bigger gameselection is also starting to help the sales figures. Sony has a lot of expirence in making consoles, and in many years one of the only choices if you wanted a great console. In recent years this has changed, so sony is facing alot more competition then before, this means that more and more titles goes multi-platform so it's not necessary having a playstation to enjoy great games.
If we start by looking at the other possibilities you get when buying a playstation 3, then it's really the blu-ray drive that sets playstation apart from the competition. With the blu-ray drive you can watch movies in HD quality, and the playstation 3 is right now the cheapest blu-ray player on market, and the fact you also get a console is just a nice bonus. So as a blu-ray player it's at a great price, but if you just want a console then it's a bit expensive. As with the xbox 360 you have the option to stream media from your pc to the playstation, the playstation doesn't play as many formats yet, but a update is on it's way.
Looking at the games released for the playstation, there is still a gap in the good titles, but that is always a problem with a new console, and the xbox 360 had the same problems a year or more back. One great think about the playstation is the free online play, this is better then on the xbox where you have to pay to play. This also mens that there are more features on the xbox but for a casuals player free but less features is nice.
As in my other article about the , it's up to you to decide what is importent in a console for you. All 3 consoles has great games, but not all in the same genre, so decide whats importent to you, before you run out and buy one. Ofcause you can choose the simple solution a get all 3 consoles.
